Speech Therapy in Kampala for Every Age
Speech Therapy in Kampala for Children and Adults
At Pearl Hearing and Speech Solutions our Speech and Language Pathology team evaluates and treats children and adults, working on communication, language and swallowing. In person and telehealth. Families are often told to wait and see. Sometimes that is right. Often it is not, and the waiting costs a child months of language development that are hard to make up later.

A meaningful number of children referred for speech delay turn out to have undiagnosed hearing loss. A child who cannot hear speech clearly cannot learn to produce it clearly. Because hearing testing happens in the same building, we can rule that in or out on the same visit. We also work directly with schools.

Adults
Adult Conditions We Treat
Comprehensive therapy for adults facing speech, language, cognitive or swallowing difficulties caused by injury, illness, or progressive conditions.
Stroke recovery too often stops at the point of medical discharge. The patient survives, goes home, and the communication difficulty is treated as a permanent fact of life. It frequently is not. Language recovery after a stroke continues for a long time, and structured therapy makes a measurable difference to how far it goes. We work on speaking, understanding, reading and writing, and on practical strategies the family can use so conversation at home is less frustrating for everyone. Starting sooner is better, but starting late is far better than not starting.
Adults come to us for voice problems as well. A voice that is persistently hoarse, weak, or tires quickly through the day is worth having assessed, particularly for teachers, preachers, broadcasters and anyone else who uses their voice for a living. Where swallowing is also affected, see our swallowing therapy page.
